There's nothing like collaborating with my lovely lady Kashka of KashkaMUA. Editorial bridal images from a collaboration with Lauren Dodd and Kashka. On this fun and relaxed shoot, we captured two moods and a ton of bokeh...yum.
Thanks everyone for your hard work and amazing personalities!
First off, thank you Hogan McLaughlin for supplying the beautiful gowns we had the opportunity to shoot. I couldn't have done anything without all of the support I had from Kashka (www.kashkamua.com) for make-up, Jeremy and Tina at R25 Productions (www.wittefini.com), and Andrea Susan Bush for being the beauty wearing the dress.
The shoot was guided by emotional interpretation of the dresses. I'll let you do the interpreting...
We all have it with someone, somehow. Its created through pure experience. These past holidays, I pondered on connections I had with my existing and new families that have been created, paths aligned. I wonder sometimes how my perspective on family will evolve as I grow "older". This year, I wanted to document my family as I encountered them on the holidays. A portrait series with a consistent treatment shows how we age, respectively, from our experiences. They carve life into our face and live in our expressions.
...Cheers to an exciting year in 2014!!
I was looking back on some work I had done after getting a prism in the mail to use for some shots, and found this. The image is of model INNA as she was putting on an earring for a shot, in the mirror, with the prism in front of my lens. I loved it and wanted to share :) Happy trails...
Inspiration comes from all sources. This time, it came from working with photographer and model, Inna R, as well as make-up by Kashka.
Working with other people that are creative is an amazing experience. I never want to stop! The language communicated between everyone at a shoot is beautiful when you look back on it. Language is an interesting thing. We can become driven by it, deterred by it, inspired by it... But language can also be visual. One of the things that fascinates me is how we can translate verbal language into a visual one.
Here is how we translated our verbal into...
The story of a found model. Pushing boundaries in any fashion (ha! fashion) helps make anyone a better shooter:
What do you want to be shooting? Shoot it.
What are you scared of shooting? Do it.
What do you need to do to accomplish it? Find others that have gone through the same experience. Ask questions.
Who do you need to make it happen? Find them. Get together a team. Get creative!
Thanks to a great team...you guys rocked...sometimes great things happen with the unexpected.
Kashka found Angela, our model featured in today's shoot. Shot in studio (obviously), we were...
Sometimes not knowing is a wonderful thing...the most mysterious things can happen.
"Glitch art is the aestheticization of digital or analog errors, such as artifacts and other "bugs", by either corrupting digital code/data or by physically manipulating electronic devices," as said by wikipedia
I made these images using a glitch program and some appropriated and self-created work. I took a few liberties, but incorporated the essence of the art into the works.
Thank you technology!
Some studio freshness brought to you! I wanted to share a variety of shots we got in studio for your feasting eyes.
Thanks everyone involved for all your help!
